Types of Online Advertising

Online Advertising, also known as Digital Advertising is a marketing strategy that uses internet as a medium to drive traffic to your website, reach target audience and deliver marketing messages to the right customers. It is a quick method of promotion of product information. It allows your business to reach beyond your existing customers making it easier for the advertisers to break the barriers of time and locations.

Here are few types of online advertising:

  • Display Advertising

Display advertising not only includes images and text but it also includes videos and audios. It uses more graphics to attract the viewers. The only thing that matters is the quality of visitors. Display advertising is sometimes called as “Banner advertising.”

  • CPM (Cost Per Thousand Impressions)

Here the advertisers pay when their messages are exposed to specific audiences. It is a bit different way of advertising. In order to display your advertisement using CPM, you can pay for a fixed number of times instead of paying for fixed period of times. This number is usually a multiple of 1,000 and you pay per thousand, or per mile. It is also called as “Cost Per Mile.” A disadvantage of this is that it can be a risk if your advertisement doesn’t generate any clicks to your website.

  • CPC (Cost-Per-Click)

Cost-Per-Click advertising is a great way to get visitors and drive traffic to website. CPC is not risky as you only pay for the visitors that actually click on the advertisement and visit your website. It is risky only when you need to convert visitors into your leads. The search engine is paid only when the user clicks on sponsored listing.

  • Retargeting Ads

This is another form of online Advertising or Marketing. Retargeting Advertising follow your customers and convert them to a lead. Retargeting Ads are shown to those customers who have already visited your site, as retargeting ads favors or focuses only on that audience who are familiar with your brand.

  • Social Media Ads

Social Media is the best platform for advertising.  Using social media marketing strategy will help to build your unique brand. It can generate more traffic towards your business.  Advertising in Social Media is more powerful compared to other options and serves you with instant results.
